What should I know before I download or purchase a game?

Read this handy check list! We recommend that you:

  1. Check the System Requirements of the game you are interested in to ensure it will work on your computer. Click the System Requirements link on each game page as each game may differ slightly.
  2. Make good use of the Free Trial period available for all download games. Try the game out before you decide to buy it!
  3. Remember that you will need to connect to the Internet to both download and register the game for unlimited play on whatever computer you want to play the game on.
  4. If you use spam-filtering technology on your email, be sure to add us to your address book so you can receive your order confirmation email from PopCap. Add this address to your list: salessupport@popcap.com

How do I purchase a game?

Here are some step by step instructions on downloading and purchasing the game:

  1. To download and try out the game for the free trial period, click on Download on the game page of your choice.
  2. Follow the onscreen instructions on how to download and install the game.
  3. Once you decide you would like to purchase the game, just click Buy Now in the game menu (stop the game at any stage or wait till the end of your free trial). You can also click Buy Now on the game page where you first downloaded the game.
  4. Clicking the Buy Now button will open the PopCap Games shopping cart, so you will need to be online. You will see your game listed in the cart.
  5. Follow the instructions on screen.
  6. When you have completed your purchase, you will be shown a game receipt and receive an email to confirm your purchase. You should print AND save the receipt and email, should you need to install the game on another computer in the future.
  7. Follow the instructions in the email to unlock and register your game.

The game is yours to play whenever you want! There's nothing else to download, no need to restart your computer, and no additional fees. Enjoy your game!

How can I pay for my game?

The main payment methods available are as follows:

There may be different billing methods available depending on your geographic location. Add a game to the Shopping Cart and select the applicable billing option.

When can I expect to receive my ordered item(s)?
Download Game Purchase
If you have ordered a download game, you will receive an online receipt in your web browser instantly, the information on which you can use to install and register your game. We recommend that you both save and print this page for future reference and so you can retain a record of your purchase. Within a short period of time, you will receive an order confirmation email which also contains the information you need to register your purchased game. If you do not receive this email, please check your spam or junk mail folder as the mail might be detained.

Merchandise Purchase
If you have ordered an item such as a back-up CD-ROM of your game, or any other merchandise other than a download game, please allow 7-14 business days for receipt of your item(s). The package will be shipped via USPS.

If you have not received your CD, please click Contact Us below, provide your current mailing address, and we will reship your CD-ROM. We can reship CD-ROMs within 90 days of the order date.

How can I purchase a game as a gift for someone else?

Regarding the best way to purchase games as gifts, it depends on the intended recipients' computer setup and Internet access. Naturally, download versions are available for all our games. Download versions do require that the recipient has the ability to connect to the Internet from the computer(s) on which the games will be played, so that online registration can be completed.

Many of our games are also available on CD-ROM at retail stores and on retail sites. Please visit our CD-ROM Help Page for more information on purchasing a CD-ROM!

I want to purchase a gift certificate as a gift for someone who is overseas.

Due to different billing systems in use for US and International Customers, a gift certificate purchased from one country in the purchaser's local currency can not be redeemed in another country, using the local currency. We regret any inconvenience caused.

Australian Customers Only: Why can't I use my American Express credit card?

We regret that our new International billing partner does not yet support payments by American Express credit cards in Australia. We are working with our billing partner to resolve this issue and hope to make this payment method available to you again as soon as possible. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to you.

PayPal Payment Option


How do I use PayPal to purchase a game?

Here are some step by step instructions on purchasing the game using PayPal. If you have any questions about using your PayPal account, please contact PayPal Customer Support directly.


Note: If you do not have a PayPal Account, please visit www.paypal.com to set one up.

  1. When you add a game to the shopping cart, and enter your address, select the option to pay using PayPal and click Place Order.
  2. You will be asked to log in to your PayPal account. If you do not have a PayPal Account, visit www.paypal.com to set one up first.
  3. Please review the information displayed on the PayPal page.

    Note: Clicking CONTINUE means you agree to pay the amount displayed.

    If you do not want to continue at this point, click on the link that says "Cancel and return to PopCap Games.". This will CANCEL the payment and take you back to the shopping cart where you can decide to complete the purchase or remove the game from the cart.

  4. If you click "Continue", a new PopCap web page will appear. Please click the large "Complete PayPal Payment" button to proceed.

    Note: At this point, you can choose to "Change How I Pay"; this will cancel the PayPal transaction and divert you to other payment options.

  5. If you choose to complete your PayPal payment, a new page displaying your game receipt will appear and you will receive an email to confirm your purchase. You should print AND save the receipt and email, should you need to install the game on another computer in the future.
  6. Follow the instructions in the email to unlock and register your game. Enjoy!

The game is yours to play whenever you want! There's nothing else to download, no need to restart your computer, and no additional fees. Enjoy your game!

I closed the page displaying my game receipt before noting the details; what should I do?

If for some reason you did not return to the Popcap order receipt page, please do not attempt to purchase the game again. You will be sent an order confirmation email to the email address entered during the ordering process. This will contain all the order information required.


Please check any spam or junk folders on your email program, as our email may have been detained. If you do not receive your email within 48 hours of placing your order, please use this form to contact our Customer Support Team. We will reply to your email within 3 business days.

I ordered my game using my PayPal account, and have been charged, but have not received my order confirmation email. Where is it?

You may use one email address for your PayPal account, but have entered another email address while ordering the game. Please check all of your email accounts.

Billing Questions


I received a message saying "A problem occurred processing your order" or "Please correct the items in red". What does this mean?

Your order attempt may have been unsuccessful due to an error in the billing details provided or a restriction from your Bank/Credit Card Company. This may be due to the following:

  • Missing or incorrect information for your payment method.
  • The Credit Card Company does not recognize the transaction.


Please contact your Bank/Credit Card Company to confirm the data you are entering, and that it is you who is trying to use the card to purchase a game online. If you are using a branded card, confirm if you should enter this as a Credit or a Debit card.


Important: Once you verify your information with your Bank/Credit Card Company, please clear your Internet Browser cache (cookies) before any further attempts to purchase the game. If you need instructions on how to do this please click here.

I am unhappy with my purchase; how do I get a refund?

If, despite best attempts to resolve a problem through troubleshooting and investigation, we are unable to resolve an issue, we will replace the game title with another or refund the game within 90 days of purchase where applicable. This applies to purchases made on www.popcap.com only. We can not refund an order placed with an Affiliate Partner or other portal site.

If you are experiencing a problem with a CD-ROM version purchased in a retail store, please return it to the store for replacement.

I purchased a PopCap Bundle but only see one item in my Confirmation Email. Where can I find my order information?
Don't worry! The Confirmation Email you received in your email Inbox after your bundle purchase shows only one item listed in the Order Details. The bundle is one item containing multiple downloads. These downloads are listed near the top of the page.

Gift Certificate/Coupons


I have received a Gift Certificate/Coupon, how do I use it?

On the Shopping Cart page, there will be a field labelled Add Coupon Code or Gift Certificate. Simply paste or type your code into that field, then click Add. Your discount will be applied immediately when the page refreshes.

I received a coupon to use on PopCap.com but can't see where to enter my coupon; how can I use it?

Please note that the discounts offered in our Newsletter or for completing surveys are not available when used in conjunction with another PopCap offer, such as an "up-sell" - for example, buy Peggle and receive a discount on Iggle Pop. Essentially, the system accepts one discount per order.


This is explained on the Newsletter, in the conditions of use towards the bottom of the message, for example: "Not valid with any other offer." If you have added another game at a discount when you reach the shopping cart, a coupon code is applied for the "buy a second game at a discount", so you will not be given the option to enter the coupon received on the newsletter (the coupon code box disappears).


If you remove the second item from your cart and proceed with your order, the coupon code box will reappear, and you can use your own coupon code.

I am interested in Educational pricing for my school/college; where can I find more information?
Educational Pricing is available for Educational Institutions and Schools for most of PopCap Games products. The most popular games used by schools are Typershark Deluxe and Bookworm Deluxe.
